Hi, Shoes On was created in May 2008 by two busy mums Lynne Bromnick and Sam Hill.
Lynne had been a footwear technologist for two large retailers and Sam a merchandiser. We met whilst in the buying department of childrens shoes for M&S. Sam and I had our first kids 6 weeks apart and after returning to work compared notes on how hard it was to get shoes for our girls….dragging them out to the shops, them being prodded and man -handled into getting their feet measured and then getting badly fitting, boring shoes!
We thought, given all our experience, there had to be a better way, thinking that if our girls could go to a relaxed home environment to get their feet measured and shoes fitted, the stress levels of our girls, and then us, would be a lot lower!
2 years later we started Shoes On! We had great support from brands like Hush Puppies, Buckle my Shoe, Superfit and Froddo and now we’re stocking other brands like Kickers, Pediped, Simple and Ipanema.
We also wanted to sell on-line, but thought we could offer a unipue service by advice on the shoes, so that we could ensure the customer had a better chance of getting the right fit for their kids and themselves. Therefore if you looks at certain shoes, in the description we’ve put in some fitting advice if we think a particular style or shoe is generous or small. We also have ‘Home Measuring’ and ‘Home Fitting’ pages on our site to help you measure and fit a home.
